At Mad Science of DC, we are having a BLAST! We bring fun, exciting science to kids across the DMV, through our summer camps, after school clubs, school-wide assemblies, and birthday parties.
Of course, it takes a tremendous amount of hard work to bring Mad Science to tens of thousands of kids each year, and that's where you would come in. As a Summer Counselor Supervisor, you would play an integral role in our small business’s summer camp operations.
We are looking for someone with high energy and a passion for education to help to cultivate a fun, safe camp environment. This role requires someone with a positive take-charge attitude, who is comfortable working both in a team environment as well as autonomously.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
June 9 - August 22, 2025
Main Responsibilities:
- Visiting camp locations across northern Virginia to support and monitor counselors (approximately ~5 per day)
- Communicating camp & counselor performance to the main office
- Assisting with equipment deliveries
- Responding to minor on-site issues (i.e. child or instructor behavior, instructor callouts)
- Facilitating escalation of major concerns or challenges to the main office
- Attend required (paid) training on camp curriculum
Job Requirements:
- Experience in a managerial position (1-2 years)
- Experience working with children (1-2 years)
- Reliable vehicle
- Background check
- Available to work full time, 6/9-8/22
- Located within ~10 miles of the Vienna, VA area
Pay:
- $150 per day + mileage
Compensation: $150.00 per day
